To support prevention and treatment of heartworm disease in shelters and communities lacking access to care.

Support for a third year DVM candidate in good academic standing in the College of Veterinary Medicine who has documented financial need and exhibits dedication to the profession. The student should have evidence of serving as a volunteer or of leadership activity. Successful recipient shall also receive the award during their fourth academic year, as long as they remain in good academic standing and continue to exhibit volunteerism, leadership, and/or dedication to the profession.

Support treatment of injured wildlife presented to the CVM-VMC with no other financial means of treatment; this would be for indigenous wildlife, not pets.
