Ian R. Driscoll, MD, Surgery Resident Leadership Fund

Ian R. Driscoll, MD, Father, Husband, Burn Surgeon, Educator, Army Major, and Leader was a gifted surgeon and surgical educator. Born in Florida, he attended Georgetown University as an undergraduate and received his medical degree from the University of Florida Medical School. He completed his general surgery training at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. After being stationed at Ft. Sam Houston, Dr. Driscoll was deployed many times to Afghanistan and Kuwait. He would go on to receive the meritorious service award.

Dr. Driscoll was an Associate Professor of Surgery and was Director of the UF Burn Center until his death. His great passion was mentoring medical students, residents and providing exceptional care to his many patients. He believed deeply in giving back to the community that had given so much to him. He won several awards for his leadership, teaching and clinical excellence and was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society in the Medical School.

The Ian R. Driscoll Surgery Resident Leadership Fund continues his legacy of education and mentorship for the general surgery residents of the University of Florida.
