Digging for Disasters

Support awards to students in physics for academic achievement in research and/or teaching.

Support one or more professorships; must be qualified to teach undergraduate classes in English Literature, Composition, Comparative Literature, Classics, Philosophy, History or European Languages. Awards are not intended to support research or production by the recipient. Awards should be given only to teachers who arouse the enthusiasm on the part of the student for the subjects being taught. Support Machen Florida Opportunity Scholars studying in the Departments of Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Mathematics at the University of Florida. If the program ceases to exist at the University, then the spendable income shall be used to support scholarship awards to first generation Florida students with low family incomes studying in those same departments.
