Roland T. Stern Learning Center Endowment
Support the maintenance and enhancement of the learning center at the Austin Cary Forest. For the first two years after the gift is made, a portion of the spendable income shall be used to enhance the sawmill educational site that is currently at the Austin Cary Forest. The spendable income may also be used to support teaching and educational initiatives at the Austin Cary Forest, such as forest student worker stipends, educational day camps for K-12 students, and other initiatives that educate University students, faculty, and the community about the importance of working forests. The spendable income may also be used to support research and extension activities occurring at the Austin Cary Forest.
Gene and Barbara Batson Endowed Nursery Fund
Support scholarship/fellowship awards to students in IFAS interested in careers in the ornamental nursery business. These awards will support students who participate in internships which provide hands on preparation for a career in the nursery industry. Awards may also support students participating in research related to the nursery industry, preferably foliage or floriculture production.
