Support a three-year term professorship in the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering, within the UF Foundation Term Professorship Program. All unexpended funds revert to the Foundation after three years. Up to half the award can be used to fund the salary plus fringe of the Term Professor; all of the award may be used to defray research expenses, including graduate assistantship support. Eligible faculty may be untenured, tenured or non-tenure-track, but must have a substantial research assignment and an outstanding record of research accomplishments. Faculty may receive award once during the lifetime of the program.

Support engineering research in the development of translational biomaterial platforms for cell-based therapies, particularly Type 1 diabetes, within the J. Crayton Pruitt Family Department of Biomedical Engineering.

Support the Goldberg Lectureship Series in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering and may be used to pay for honoraria, publicity, events and receptions, and the expenses of a member of the faculty, visiting professor, or lecturer from industry or another institution or organization to present a lecture or series of lectures on campus, with a preference in biomaterials for polymeric materials.
