Joseph W. Little Pro Bono Support Endowment

Support scholarship awards to second year students in the College who demonstrate leadership potential, with preference to students who, as law students, have engaged in public service through volunteer efforts, internships, externships, or through work with organizations such as the Center for Governmental Responsibility or similar organizations at the College. in addition, each applicant shall submit an essay demonstrating his or her current and future leadership potential, particularly in relation to public service. The chair of the faculty scholarship committee shall, when possible and with best efforts, consult with the director of the Center for Governmental Responsibility, the faculty advisor to the Florida Law Review, and the director of clinical programming at the College before making the annual award. The final decision regarding the recipients will be made by the Dean or the Dean's designee. The award of this scholarship shall be in addition to any other scholarship or merit-based award received by the recipients and shall not be used as a substitute or in lieu of any other scholarship or merit-based award received by the recipients. The foregoing restriction shall not apply to the extent prohibited or made impossible for a student receiving need-based aid.

Provide scholarships to students enrolled in the J.D. program at the Levine College of Law. Financial assistance is to be given for courses that count toward the award of the J.D. degree. The criteria for receiving a scholarship under the fund shall be set by the Dean of the College or his/her delegate, based on his/her judgment about what kind of financial aid will help enroll a highly qualified and diverse student body.

Support a scholarship, to be awarded annually, to a third-year law student who exemplifies leadership, integrity, character and professionalism through active participation and service in student organizations, community activities, and/or the legal community. The student must exemplify the principle of integrity and be in good academic standing.
