Art Education Fund

Support the Friends of Music activities in the College of Fine Arts.

This fund is dedicated to enhancing awareness of business and entrepreneurship skills within the arts, thereby deepening students' understanding of this vital aspect of the field. The fund rotates annually among the college’s degree-granting units, but units may request a change in the rotation sequence at the discretion of the unit director, particularly in cases of unique opportunities or collaborations with other campus entities, such as the Harn Museum, University of Florida Performing Arts, or other museums and centers. If a unit has unused funds they stay with that unit for further use in the next year. The fund supports a diverse range of activities, including but not limited to guest speakers, master classes, residencies, campus conferences, workshops, and the production of podcasts or videos to enrich the college curriculum. Additionally, it can be utilized to enhance ongoing events. The overarching goal is to maximize the fund's impact through strategic application. The director of the recipient unit will submit a summary of the event(s) to the Dean who will also send a copy to Lucinda Lavelli.

Creating Healthy Communities: Arts + Public Health in America is a national initiative designed to expand the intersections of arts, community development, and public health through strategic cross-sector collaboration, discovery, translation, and dissemination. The ArtPlace America grant will support faculty, staff, research, convening sessions (travel and related costs), a national consortium, a webinar series, and web-based resources.
