Krisia and Steve Rhoden Memorial Scholarship
Income of the Fund shall be used as follows:
(A) 70% to Krisia Rhoden Scholarship Dentistry award to a student(s) enrolled in the College of Dentistry. 1) The University recognizes the Donor's strong and abiding commitment to increasing the racial and ethnic diversity of the students in the College, particularly those from the Caribbean nations, including but not limited to Jamaica. The University and the College support the Donor's view that increased and improved interaction across the social lines of gender, race, generation, geography, and class is a key for the College, as evidenced by the College's Statement of Commitment to Diversity. 2) The recipient of this scholarship shall annually provide the Donor with a general statement of his of her academic performance.
(B) 30% for the Steve Rhoden Scholarship to incoming freshman who has graduated from Miami Palmetto Senior High School, located in Miami, Florida, and was a member of the school soccer team during his or her high school years. 1) The University recognizes the Donor's strong and abiding commitment to increasing the racial and ethnic diversity of the students in the University, particularly those from the Caribbean nations, including but not limited to Jamaica. The University support the Donor's view that increased and improved interaction across the social lines of gender, race, generation, geography, and class is a key issue for the University, as evidenced by the University's Statement of Commitment to Diversity. 2) The recipient of this scholarship shall annually provide the Donor with a general statement of his or her academic performance. 3) If there is no eligible recipient in any year from Miami Palmetto Senior High School Soccer Team, the option of continuing the scholarship to the previous recipient will be considered, based on satisfactory academic performance. Should this student not be eligible for the continuance of the scholarship, the scholarship may then be awarded to a student pursuing a degree in Architecture.
