Support scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students with financial need who are pursuing a degree in any of the departments currently known as Linguistics; Languages, Literatures and Cultures; and Spanish and Portuguese Studies, with first preference to students studying Linguistics and the second preference to students studying French language and culture. If possible, the donor wishes that at least two awards be granted annually, one in linguistics and one in romance languages.

Support an archaeological field research project in Peru.

Support annual graduate student award in Department of Sociology for excellence in quantitative methods; enrolled full-time fall term before award, has not been a previous recipient, given each year in perpetuity & not to be shared among multiple recipients, & chosen by appropriate faculty committee.
