This fund was established in 2011 by the Florida Blue Foundation to support a chair in Health Disparities at the University of Florida.
Founded in 2001, the Florida Blue Foundation is a separate philanthropic partner of Florida Blue, Florida’s Blue Cross and Blue Shield company. The Foundation’s mission is to improve the health and well-being of Floridians and their communities.

J. Wayne and Delores Barr Weaver Florida Opportunity Scholarship
Support students at the University in the Bernie and Chris Machen Florida Opportunity Scholars Program. If the program ceases to exist at the University, then the spendable income shall be used to support scholarship awards to first generation Florida students with low family incomes.
Mary Dixon Memorial Florida Opportunity Scholarship
Provide funding for the Bernie and Chris Machen Florida Opportunity Scholars Program. The scholarship shall not be restricted to using "interest only", but, in the reasonable discretion of the administrators, all funds be used to best serve the needy students for which they were intended; even if this means the exhaustion of principal.
Manatee County Scholarship
Support scholarships for graduating seniors from Manatee Co, FL based on academic performance, financial need, and civic involvement. Donor to nominate and UF to choose.
