Spendable income to support approved clinical and research fellowships related to the field of dementia and the mission of the Fixel Institute for Neurological Diseases. Recipients shall be selected by the Director of the Institute in conjunction with the colleges and departments in university health sciences.

Longtime University of Florida supporters John B. and Emily J. Higdon created this endowment. John Higdon earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Florida in 1959 and has served as a member of numerous leadership bodies for the University. He is the past president of the University of Florida Foundation, a distinguished alumnus and was co-chairman of UF’s capital campaign “It’s Performance That Counts
