Adams Ona Research Fund

Provides financial assistance to graduate students whose course of study is in subtropical fruits with emphasis upon limes, avocados and mangos, including their production and marketing. The recipient of the scholarship will be a resident of the State of Florida. See Letter of Agreement for more information.

Supports these purposes: Approximately 60% each fiscal year of scholarships to students majoring in Animal Sciences who have an interest in international trade and who graduated from a high school in Florida; Approximately 40% each fiscal year for travel expenses for the livestock judging individual or team that wins the Florida 4-H Livestock Judging Contest and goes on to compete in the national contest.

Supports the ongoing maintenance and improvement of the gardens for teaching and research, including hardscapes, structures, plant material, and other infrastructure needs. The Gardens at Fifield fund has been established to enable garden development that supports formal and informal education through courses, extension programs, and research demonstration. The gardens showcase the value of plants and horticulture to the public and related industries, along with students and extension clientele.
