Purpose
Support acquisition of library materials dealing with the life and works of Jose Marti, Cuban history, and/or contemporary Cuba. All purchases made with income from this fund will be housed in the University of Florida Latin American Collection or in Special Collections in Smathers Library. Each will bear a specially designed frontispiece label indicating that the purchase was made with funds from the Manuel Pedro Gonzalez Endowment. The design of the label will be approved by the Director of the Center for Latin American Studies and Professor Ivan A. Schulman.

This fund, established in 1975 by Manuel Pedro González, currently supports the acquisition for the George A. Smathers Libraries of materials dealing with the life and works of José Marti as well as contemporary or historical Cuban books, manuscripts and periodicals or materials relating to Cuba.
