Purpose
The purpose of this Fund is to provide financial assistance, in memory of Fred P. Lawrence, to visiting Extension Faculty in Fruit Crops, IFAS, (including County Extension Agents in Fruit Crops), University of Florida to visit other States; the purpose of such visits would be the exchange of program ideas and concepts, participation in tours, institutes, seminars, short courses and other such program activities. This fund shall be perpetual with disbursements being made only from 50% of income earned annually for the first ten (10) years. and 75% of income earned annually thereafter. exclusive; it being understood that the Donee may retain from the annual earnings of the fund up to five percent (5%) (or a reasonable adjusted future percentage) to offset administrative expenses incurred with administration of the fund. The recipient of this Fund will be selected annually by a special committee of the !FAS Fruit Crops Department determined by the Department Chairman and approved by the IFAS Dean for Extension. the IFAS Dean for Extension may elect prior to the awarding of this fund, to review the qualifications of the recipient with a representative of the Lawrence Family. The Fund will be disbursed to the recipient upon request of the IFAS Dean for Extension, or other future Fund supervisor, to the Office of the Vice President for Agricultural Affairs. In the event that future discoveries, State or Federal actions, or other events render expenditures unnecessary or improper for the purpose and objectives now to be assisted, said Fund and the earnings therefrom shall be applied to as close related field or purpose within the College of Agriculture or purpose as may be possible with primary consideration given that original intention of donor in establishing the Fund.
