Annenberg Foundation Fund
Support the Discretionary fund for the Chair of the Department of Landscape Architecture to draw upon to fund special needs, projects and opportunities in order to enhance the research and programming work of the Department. The department aims to investigate the relationship between settlement pattern, land and water management decision making processes and the ecological conditions of a 27 square mile (17,500 acre) area in the rapidly growing Orlando metropolitan area. Arthur G. and Beverley A. Witters Competition Endowment
Support an annual campus-wide design competition; led by a committee made up of faculty members from Architecture, Building Construction and Engineering and should not be limited to a project in Gainesville area; Competition should mirror similar efforts in the private sector in regards to major facility design and construction in the following ways: 1) Once design criteria (scope, functions, and other impacts) are decided, architecture students should lead this competition by developing preliminary sketches. 2) Structural engineering students should develop the structural theme. 3) Building Construction students should provide input on cost and schedule. 4) Building Construction students should consult with team on cost, schedule and feasibility. 5) Definitive design should be developed and led by architecture students. 6) Mechanical and electrical engineering students should then develop schemes based on definitive design. 7) It design directive indicates need for landscaping, urban planning and interior design, these students should then be brought into the competition. 8) Solution arrived at by team should then be entered into competition.
Autodesk Courses Fund
Support creating a series of cross discipline micro-credential courses on industrialized construction using Autodesk's industrialized construction curriculum and UF's industrialized construction cross-disciplinary contest.
