Purpose
Support scholarship awards to University students, who will work at the Whitney Lab, assisting in the development of the Matanzas River Basin Inventory, or in studies and research relevant to the ecology or conservation of the Basin.

Established in 2011 by Frederick Carl Matthaei, Jr. along with a group of donors to support scholarship awards to students working at the Whitney Lab who will assist in studies and research in the Matanzas River Basin Inventory, or in studies and research relevant to the ecology or conservation of the Basin.
The fund is a tribute to Fredericks son, Carl, for his service to the community as a concerned citizen and also for his work with the University of Florida’s Whitney Laborator
