Edward R. Koger Chair for Basic Cancer Research
Support ESC in cancer research. The President of UF shall establish a selection committee pursuant to the Act. Accordingly, four members shall be appoint by the foundation. However, two of those four shall be appoint upon the recommendation of the American Cancer Society, Florida Division, Inc. Additionally, the American Cancer Society, Inc. shall be allowed to appoint two additional committee members thus follows; one(1) member appointed by student government, two (2) faculty members appoint by the President, four (4) members appointed by the foundation (two [2] of which shall be upon the recommendation of the American Cancer Society, Florida Division, Inc.), and two (2) members appointed by the American Cancer Society, Florida Division Inc. That the individual selected and all future selections will be a prominent scholar in the area of basic cancer research and not currently a member of the college faculty. That the chair shall be referred to as the Edward R. Koger Chair for Basic Cancer Research funded by the American Cancer Society. That a separate account available to the ACS for review shall be maintained. And, that annually a statement of the use of the endowment proceeds shall be submitted to the ACS. That within 90 days of the end of each year, a scientific report shall be submitted to the ACS. Such report shall include research accomplished, other research activities, grants received by the eminent scholar from any source, publications by the eminent scholar, and other activities which might be of interest to the ACS. That publications resulting from research supported by the ACS shall contain an acknowledgement of the ACS support.
