Windy City Gator Club® Scholarship Fund

Provide scholarship assistance to deserving students at the University of Florida in accordance with the criteria attached as Exhibit A, which is as follows: 1. The first filter for scholarship recipients is to award to students from Title 1 schools within the Atlanta Public Schools system. The current nine (9) APS Title 1 high schools include: BEST Academy, Carver H.S., Coretta Scott King Young Women’s Leadership Academy, Douglass H.S., Jackson H.S., Mays H.S., South Atlanta H.S., Therrell H.S. and Washington H.S. 2. If no student is identified from APS in a given semester or academic year, then the scholarship can be made available second to students from any Title 1 high school in the metro Atlanta area, and then third to any student from (1) Grady H.S. (APS) or North Atlanta H.S. (APS), or (2) any Title 1 high school in the state of Georgia 3. If no students are identified from any of these filters, then the benefit can be used for other Title 1 high school students as determined by the University. 4. Once a student has received the benefit, they will continue to receive the full benefit throughout their academic career, provided they are in good academic standing. 5. The full amount of the spendable account for each year must be allocated for the identified student(s) unless the student’s remaining need is less than the award amount or it is mutually agreed upon by both parties that some amount should be reinvested into the endowment fund. At this point, consideration can be made to award any remaining balance to another student. 6. If a student recipient from a Title 1 high school cannot be identified for a given award period, then the award amount for that semester will be reinvested in the endowment fund. 7. In the event that more than one student qualifies for a single award in the same year or semester, preference shall be given to one student based on academic merit in accordance with standard Foundation policy and with agreement from the Donor. 8. The Foundation should not select more than one student for the award without consultation and agreement from the donor (Peach Bowl, Inc.) 9. Peach Bowl, Inc. requests that the University provide basic biographical information for each scholarship recipient including: name, classification (freshman, sophomore, etc.), hometown, high school attended, major, anticipated graduation date and amount of scholarship received, provided that such information is disclosed in compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Title 1 is the largest federally funded educational program. The program provides supplemental funds to school districts to assist schools with the highest student concentrations of poverty to meet school educational goals. A Title 1 school is a school receiving federal funds for Title 1 students. The basic principle of Title 1 is that schools with large concentrations of low-income students will receive supplemental funds to assist in meeting students’ educational goals. The number of low-income students is determined by the number of students enrolled in the free and reduced lunch program. Title 1 funds can be used to improve curriculum, instructional activities, counseling, parental involvement, and increase staff and program improvement. The funding assists schools in meeting the educational goals of low-income students.

Support need-based scholarships to undergraduate students with a preference first for students who graduated from a high school in Martin County and second for students intending to pursue a degree in Nursing or PHHP.
