Michael Moorhead Scholarship

Support a lecture series known as the Marshall M Criser Distinguished Lecture Series at the Levin College of Law; goal is to have 2 speakers annually, one each semester and that there would be public promotion of such events; speakers to include prestigious national & international lecturers on a wide range of topics of particular interest to law students; speakers will be selected by the dean or his/her designee; income will pay honoraria and other related expenses including cost of disseminating /publishing the lecture; associated events to be held in Marcia Whitney Schott Courtyard.

Support scholarship awards to second year students in the College who demonstrate leadership potential, with preference to students who, as law students, have engaged in public service through volunteer efforts, internships, externships, or through work with organizations such as the Center for Governmental Responsibility or similar organizations at the College. in addition, each applicant shall submit an essay demonstrating his or her current and future leadership potential, particularly in relation to public service. The chair of the faculty scholarship committee shall, when possible and with best efforts, consult with the director of the Center for Governmental Responsibility, the faculty advisor to the Florida Law Review, and the director of clinical programming at the College before making the annual award. The final decision regarding the recipients will be made by the Dean or the Dean's designee. The award of this scholarship shall be in addition to any other scholarship or merit-based award received by the recipients and shall not be used as a substitute or in lieu of any other scholarship or merit-based award received by the recipients. The foregoing restriction shall not apply to the extent prohibited or made impossible for a student receiving need-based aid.

Spendable income to support the clinical director restricted to the Fredric G. Levin College of Law, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Clinic Fund Purpose Contingency - Should the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Clinic cease to exist, the endowment would be used to establish a Professorship in Law and Technology.
