LTC John L. Crown Scholarship Fund

Support scholarship for Air Force ROTC, if there is no AFROTC, then for students in military sciences program.

Support an undergraduate scholarship for eligible students enrolled in the U.S. Airforce R.O.T.C. Program for future Air Force Officers. Recipients will receive an award of up to an annual total of $2,000: $1,000 for fall semester and $1,000 for spring semester. The scholarship may be used for tuition, fees, books, and housing. Recipients must meet these eligibility requirements: an honorably-discharged military veteran, as evidenced by a DD-214 certificate, enrolled in the UF U.S. Air Force R.O.T.C. program OR a UF student enrolled in the U.S. Air Force R.O.T.C. program; currently enrolled at UF in an undergraduate degree program; demonstrated leadership capability and commitment to USAF, USAFR, USAF Guard, or Space Force service as a commissioned officer; open to sophomores, juniors, and/or seniors planning to take courses in the UFL AFROTC Professional Officers Course (POC); minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00; Florida resident; US citizen. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: 1. An honorably-discharged military veteran, as evidenced by a DD-214 certificate, enrolled in the UF U.S. Air Force R.O.T.C. program or a UF student enrolled in the U.S. Air Force R.O.T.C. program whose parent is a deceased, active duty, active reserve, or retired veteran of military service. 2. Currently enrolled at UFL in an undergraduate degree program. 3. Currently enrolled at UFL in the Air Force R.O.T.C. program taking or scheduled to take upcoming semester courses in the Professional Officers Course (POC,) leading to a commission as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force or U. S. Space Force. 4. Demonstrated leadership capability and commitment to USAF or USAFR or USAF Guard or Space Force service as a commissioned officer, as evaluated by the UFL AFROTC Detachment Commander. 5. Open to sophomores, juniors and/or seniors planning to take or taking courses in the UFL AFROTC Professional Officers Course (POC.) 6. Minimum Cumulative GPA of 3.00. 7. Selection of each scholarship recipient will be by the UFL AFROTC Detachment Commander based on leadership skills and core values of integrity, service before self, and excellent results. 8. Must be a Florida resident. 9. Must be a U.S. citizen.
