Cardinal Health Community Pharmacy Scholarship

Purpose
The goal of the scholarship is to promote ownership of an Independent Community Pharmacy as a career choice for students coming out of pharmacy school. Preference that the scholarship: * Be awarded to one (or possibly) two students each year versus a handful. The student should be extremely confident that Ind. Comm. Pharm. is where they want to end up. * Be awarded at a denomination of $10,000-$20,000 each scholarship instead of $1,000-$5,000. The scholarship is meant to be significant to the student (in some cases paying for all of a majority of their final year of pharmacy school) * Last approximately 5-6 years and not be a traditional endowment which would last indefinitely Selection criteria for the scholarship: * Students who will be going into their final year of pharmacy school * Some additional selection criteria might include but are not limited to: Exemplary academic standing, participation in their NCPA chapter, business plan participation, electing course work that would go along with business ownership (i.e. entrepreneurial/business courses), lecture attendance, rotations in Ind. Comm. Pharm., and conversations with faculty.
